theDofEUK

The Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme is run out of Connexions Partnership Office, Northwich.  As a dedicated team we are committed to engaging young people and helping them to succeed, and through those achievements to be accredited. We know at first hand the increase in self-esteem and worth that a young person can feel through taking part in outdoor education and we are really proud of our involvement in the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme.

If you think this is something you would enjoy or even just want to receive more information on, you can get involved in Outdoor Education and Personal Development through our activity provision or the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme.

This is a Cheshire wide Outdoor Education activity provision. So if you want to get your group climbing, canoeing, completing team building activities, dragonboating please contact our Outdoor Education team on 01606 305200.

Connexions Cheshire & Warrington Limited is the largest provider of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme in the North West. As part of our provision, we issue all logbooks / packs and certificates; host presentation ceremonies; deliver training in the various modules of the leader training; hold regular conferences for you to meet with others across the county; and provide plenty of opportunities throughout the year for young people to complete the expedition section.  For more details tel: 01606 305200.

The National Citizen Service has arrived in Cheshire & Warrington for year 11 leavers!

Cheshire & Warrington’s NCS programme brings together year 11 leavers from different backgrounds and locations to become community volunteers and contribute to the vision for a Big Society.

If you’re in Year 11, the National Citizen Service is an exciting chance to do something different during your summer holiday. Taking part will let you:
• learn some new skills
• meet new people
• make a real difference to your community or an issue you care about

National Citizen Service will take place during the summer after you finish Year 11.
It runs for three weeks full-time, including two weeks away from home. After that, you’ll need to complete another 30 hours on a part-time basis.
Working in a team, you’ll have the chance to take part in exciting outdoor activities like mountaineering, canoeing and abseiling.
You’ll also get the opportunity to design and deliver your own project in your local community. This could mean working with other young people to improve the area where you live, benefiting everyone who lives there.
