The Monster Mile

'The Monster Mile' event is taking place on Sunday 30th October at Chester Racecourse from 3pm. The fancy dress event includes a childrens 1 mile sponsored walk, ghost stories, spooky trail, goodybag, refreshment and prizes. Last years event was a huge success and enjoyed by all who attended. Although its aimed at children, if you would like to join in the fun we really need as much support as possible to make it even bigger and better!

Through out the Spring, Next Step; the adult careers service based in Connexions Centres has been running a prize draw. Everyone who met with an adviser and got an action plan was automatically put into the draw. ‘A New Year, A New You, A New Career!’ Prizes included beauty treatments from Mid-Cheshire college, West Cheshire College, South Cheshire College and Warrington Collegiate and Gym Passes for JD Sport and Fitness Gyms.

Glee party night in Chester!

In celebration of the successful new series 'Glee', Utopia, a local group for lesbian, gay and bisexual young people is hosting a party for the 'Gleek' in all of us. To be held at 7pm on Wednesday the 14th of April in the Chester Hub, young people are invited to join the group dressing as their favourite Glee character. The night itself will involve a screening of the pilot to take those attending back to where it all began, along with music from the show and refreshments including the infamous 'Slushies'.

National Youth Work Week took place in November and as part of the celebrations staff at Connexions – Cheshire and Warrington Limited switched places with young people who attend the HUB in Chester for an evening. Six young people took the roles of the youth workers and ran a session for other young people and for the youth workers with whom they had switched.
