Grozone Training Opportunity
Are you interested in learning more about growing and cooking organic fruit and veg? Free organic food growing training for all abilities at the Rudheath Neighbourhood House on Cotebrook Road & cookery training at the Victoria Road Children’s Centre.
- Each gardening and cookery session will be run by
professional staff – for everyone from long-term gardeners to
absolute beginners - The gardening sessions will run on Wednesdays, once a
fortnight for 4 hours during the day between late June/early
July until the end of October (30 June, 14 & 28 July, 4,18 & 25
August, 8 & 22 Sept, 6 & 20 Oct) - Cookery sessions would be held once a month – dates to be
decided - Participants are encouraged to attend most sessions but we
understand that you may have prior engagements/dates you
can’t attend - If you can attend 30 hours of sessions you can qualify for an
NCFE certificate in 'Growing food organically' - We will also offer optional free training sessions in food
hygiene, first aid, health and safety, and orchard management - The Neighbourhood House has a safe enclosed garden with a
wendy house, lawn, room with books and toys, toilets, small
kitchen – children welcome - There will be opportunities to volunteer on other projects as
part of the sessions, including at Grozone! - All tools, seeds, ingredients are provided
