Employers

Connexions can help employers recruit young people and also offers information and advice on the employment and training of young people.
We have access to nearly all young people in our area, and offer help, guidance and support across a wide range of issues which may affect them as they begin their transition into adult life.
Our vision is to contribute to the growth and prosperity of Cheshire & Warrington by helping to maximise the potential of its young people, and to ensure that businesses benefit from a rich stream of young, local talent. We facilitate this by bringing together employers and young people through two key routes:
- Work related activities with opportunities for business participation organised through Education Business Plus
- A free job vacancy matching service where vacancies are matched against the career aspirations and employment interests of young people in your local area. Thanks to our experience, expertise and history of working with and supporting young people in Cheshire and Warrington, we are well-placed to connect you with just the type of worker you are looking for.
Your vacancy will be:
Advertised in our Connexions Centres, which are appropriate to your location and vacancy books for browsing, and listed on our website – which is updated daily and used regularly by young people – on average it receives over 11,000 hits a month! There’s also a paper-based version of this which is distributed to schools and colleges and so on.
As we keep in touch with all young people of school-leaving age and have information about their qualifications and career aspirations, we are able to advise young people about relevant opportunities and how to meet your requirements.
For more information and to advertise a vacancy with us call 0845 602 0307.
As well as our free recruitment service we also provide all the up-to-date information and advice you need related to the employment and training of young people.
This includes: the legislation surrounding the employment of young people, such as working time regulations, the Minimum Wage, salaries, the right to time off for study and so on. Advice about training young people and information on funding available for Apprenticeships and e2e — Entry to Employment — a tailored training programme for 16- to 18-year-olds, information on qualifications and labour market trends, and a range of opportunities to build strong links with local schools through education business links managed by Cheshire & Warrington's Education Business Plus team.
