Finshing Year 11 soon?
It's YOUR summer...make it special!
If you’re in Year 11 in a school in Warrington, the National Citizen Service is an exciting chance to do something different during your summer holiday. Taking part will let you:
- learn some new skills
- meet new people
- make a real difference to your community or an issue you care about
National Citizen Service will take place during the summer after you finish Year 11. It will run for three weeks full-time, including two weeks away from home. After that, you’ll need to complete another 30 hours on a part-time basis.
Working in a team, you’ll have the chance to take part in exciting outdoor activities like mountaineering, canoeing and abseiling.
You’ll also get the opportunity to design and deliver your own project in your local community. This could mean working with other young people to improve the area where you live, benefiting everyone who lives there.
Getting involved
There are lots of reasons to get involved in National Citizen Service, including:
- you’ll get to meet a whole host of new people
- it’s an opportunity to improve your self-confidence and do something independently away from your family
- you’ll learn new skills that you can add to your CV
- you can show that young people can have a positive impact in their community
