What can Next Step offer?
Just about everybody needs help with improving their skills, finding or changing their job and improving their skills at some point in their lives.
Your personal Next Step adviser will talk with you in confidence to help you plan your future by linking your personal interests and skills to a job or career.
Your adviser will also help you:
- understand the job market
- search and apply for jobs
- find funding to support any learning
- develop your CV
- improve your interview and presentation skills
- by suggesting ways to progress in your current job
Who can use the Next Step service?
You can use the Next Step service if you are:
- aged 20 or over
- aged 18 or 19, and you've been referred to Next Step by Jobcentre Plus
What can Next Step offer?
- Help with reading, writing and maths
- Lots of people find they are not in the job they want because they don’t feel confident about their reading, writing or maths.
- Next Step can help point you in the right direction to improve your skills - and tell you what financial support is available while you learn.
