FAQs

Do I need to pay for advice and guidance at Connexions centre?
No – anyone no matter what their age or income can have free information and advice from a Connexions Careers Adviser.
How do I go about arranging an appointment?
You can call into any of our eight centres to arrange an appointment – you may find that this isn’t necessary and someone will be able to talk to you straight away. If you ring us, you may find that there is a place which is more convenient for you to have your appointment such, as your local library or Family Centre.
What help can you offer me?
We can help you make decisions about which direction to take your career, and if you are looking for work, we can look at the skills you need for the job you want and help you find a place to get them. We can help you with your interview skills and work with you to update your cv. You can use our resource centres which have a wide range of information on different job areas and courses, and IT packages to help you identify work areas which might suit you.
What if I need more help?
We can help you to make contact with other agencies or organisations and arrange appointments with colleges or community education providers. If you need a bit more help from Connexions, we will be happy to see you again – we will contact you to make sure that things are still going to plan.
